![]() Since high school, I've gotten comments regarding my outfits i.e. "Kira, I have to have your closet", "can you be my personal shopper?", "your clothes..." (as she said in awe of particular boots I chose that day) and things of that nature and although I loved the compliments, I didn't think much of my outfits and their impact on other people until very recently. I've always chosen outfits that made me feel like I looked my best and sometimes that style was outlandish and unique but it has always been mine. In a way it was a mind trick, if you feel like you look your best, others will receive that energy about you as well.

In my case, MUCH of my inspiration comes from strong, smart, beautiful, success women and women-owned brands. I just love women supporting women and I love that I am able to follow alongside women in their journey of growing and learning- some whom I've unwaveringly followed since I was a teenager and some who I have discovered in recent times but who have brought tons of inspiration to me nonetheless. Below are some of the most amazing women on instagram who have influenced me greatly! Valeria Lipovetsky - A great woman who covers all things fashion, beauty, motherhood, marriage and more! GlowwithAva - Ava gives great skincare tips and hacks. As well as inspiring lifestyle content! Mishti Rahman - Mishti's fashion and beauty tips have changed my life- especially as a fellow 'brown girl'! Let's face it- no pun intended- skincare can add up! There are so many great products out there and while I feel it is necessary to splurge once in a while, simply because we deserve it, you can build an amazing routine with great products within a budget. Below are some of my best, affordable skincare finds: ![]() For Body: Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen Spray- I've been using this brand forever, works well and smells like Summer! Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash- Lightly Scented and super soothing for your skin. Aveeno Stress Relief Moisturizing Body Lotion- Aveeno knocks it out of the park everytime! Amazing lavender scent to promote relaxation and extremly hydrating. Dove Spray-On Deodorant- Who doesn't like Dove? This spray lasts forever! The scent is amazing and long-lasting! ![]() If you're an avid skin care person (like me) you know there are always new trends, things that you should be doing that you rush to implement into your routine and things that you should not be doing that you try to stop immediately (yeah... been there, done that!) and by the end of it all, your head is spinning! Well thanks to your resident "skin care guru" as I've deemed myself, these are the tried and true tips that never seem to change and (fingers crossed) never will: 1) Drink water: I know, I know what is the deal with water? That's all we hear. Does it even work? Sometimes it seems impossible to see results whether you drink the *sensible* recommended 8 cups a day or the 1 gallon a day challenge, I've heard time and again that this water advice doesn't make a difference but I'm here to tell you that it does! Let's think of it logically, |
